Glow Wire Tester
The Glow Wire test is to simulate the effect of thermal stresses, which may be produced by heat sources, such as glowing elements or overloaded resistors, for short periods, in order to asses the fire hazard by a simulation technique. It is applicable to electrotechnical equipment, solid combustible materials, and solid electrical insulating materials, as per AS/NZS 60695.2.10 and IEC 60695.2.10 standards.
