The Coefficient of Friction Tester determines the static and kinetic friction of plastic, flexible packaging, foils, sheeting, paper, rubber and other sheeted material. The COF is a number which represents the friction between two surfaces. The COF tester can measure static COF from a resting position and continue to move testing surfaces in a relative motion to give an accurate kinetic COF result. 

The friction tester is manufactured with relevance to ASTM D1894, TAPPI T549 as well as optional ISO 8295 standards.  IDM also offer a computer software package for data acquisition which enables data to be captured in real time.  The software program offers statistical analysis of the test results, which can also be printed and saved for later use.
