The Electric Incinerator is used for the determination of residue (ash content) on ignition at 900°C.  It is a test used worldwide to determine the filler content pulp, paper and board.  It is used for quality control in the production line.

The comparison of the initial weight of the sample and the final weight of the residue with an analytic scale gives the percentage of residue.
